The Social Hour Host provides our parishioners an opportunity to socialize and meet new people while enjoying both coffee and donuts after both Sunday morning Masses. The time commitment is minimal and usually less than one hour, and interested volunteers can sign up for whatever date and time slot works for them.

Founded on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Connecticut and a group of parishioners. Their intent was to bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families, especially widows and orphans. Blessed Fr. McGivney's vision is carried on by KoC Council 9258 at OLSS. We are a brotherhood of Catholic men who lead, serve, protect and defend, whether we are giving out food for families in need, providing home repairs via Christmas in April, helping with the Dragon Boat races, supporting local pregnancy centers, sending financial support to seminarians, or helping wherever needed. At the same time, we champion the causes of life, faith, family and community. Find out more about what we do!

Men are the spiritual leaders of their homes and this call is not always an easy one. Surround yourself with other men aspiring to live out their faith in their journey as husbands, fathers, brothers, mentors, and sons of our Lord. The group meets weekly on Saturday mornings. The schedule breaks for summer and holidays. Each week we start with Mass at 7am in the Historic Church followed by discussion and refreshments 7:30-9am in the Parish Library.

Our primary goal is to support each other in our personal spiritual growth and roles as mothers in a way that is feasible with our busy schedules! We have weekly online meetings and devotional discussions on Thursdays 8-9pm, you’re welcome to come and go according to your availability. We have monthly in-person social gatherings on the second Saturday 8-9am.

The OLSS Women’s Book Discussion Group was started by Sr. Barbara Rohe, CDP, in the mid 2000s. Sr. Barbara saw a need for the women of our parish to get together, foster community, and broaden our vision through discussion of spiritual writings. This year we are reading Growing Old Gracefully by Sister Joan Chittister, OSB. We invite you to become a part of our group and add your insights into our discussions. Beginning on September 17th, we will meet every third Tuesday morning at 10am for an hour and a half. We will gather for about 3 months then take a break during the holiday season and resume in early 2024.
